There is no doubt that the holidays are a time of celebration. So whether you pull out your party wardrobe – plush suits, modern cocktail dresses and lots of sequined accessories – or not, remember “it’s about having fun, seeing friends, being in dreamy and glamorous environments and feel good,” fashion designer Peter Dundas tells WWD.

Glittery and very glamorous embellishments have always made their way onto Dundas’ designs, but now he’s taking things to a whole new level, teaming up with Gray Goose and Swarvoski handbag designer Marina Raphael to create a designer bag inspired by the martini, made entirely of crystal.

When Gray Goose approached Dundas about this opportunity, he knew it would be a fun, iconic, and organic collaboration. “The partnership felt really natural because I’m a martini drinker, I use iconic references in everything I do, and Gray Goose is an iconic brand, and martinis certainly are too,” Dundas says. “The collaboration also allowed me to work with a slightly different category than what I usually do and to use new techniques and materials.”

True to Dundas fashion, the new accessory features clean lines, a sturdy silhouette and well-crafted details such as stitching, dazzling crystal panels and a radiant ombre colourway. Minimalist in form and maximalist in detail, the Gray Goose Martini handbag reflects an appreciation for refined design, gemstones and innovation. “When creating the bag, I went straight to the source – Gray Goose – because I wanted the bag to be directly inspired by the packaging,” says Dundas. “I looked at the frosted glass, the blue color accents, the crystal packaging and, of course, the Gray Goose geese. Maybe the fact that I was on martini number two when I took it started helped me, but I had a handmade geese sculpture turned into a charm because I love charms and wanted to embellish the detachable metal Gray Goose chain more,” says Dundas. “I let my subconscious judging my designs, so that’s what I used to create this bag.”

While Gray Goose’s legendary vodka was the inspiration behind the bag, it was also created with the Dundas woman in mind. “I think the Dundas girl is not afraid to be seen. She loves color and shine and glamour, and I think that’s what it’s all about,” says Dundas. “She also likes the good quality and the feeling of being classy – which is both the bag and the martinis.”

So if you’re ready to get your hands on the Gray Goose Martini bag – which can be worn as a clutch or crossbody bag – and prove your sartorial savvy, there’s no better time than now. It’s the perfect gift for a girlfriend, a gift for a mom, or a gift for any woman on your list “who, regardless of age, is young at heart, fun-loving, and needs a bag. evening dress that acts as a piece of jewelry,” adds Dundas.

While Dundas likes to see women get creative in styling his pieces, he recommends pairing the bag with a simple white or black dress, chunky heels or boots, and a good attitude. And, of course, complete the look with a Peter Dundas-inspired martini — heavily soiled, with three olives — in hand.
