Hannaford Community Programs has selected Our Father’s House as the beneficiary of its Fight Hunger (Reusable) Bag program for the month of November.
In November, $ 1 from the sale of each $ 2.50 reusable shopping bag sold at the Hannaford store located at 927 Merriam Ave. (Twin City Plaza) in Leominster will go to support OFH programs.
OFH, the largest community shelter operator in north-central Massachusetts, operates an individual homeless shelter, a women’s shelter and a community pantry in Fitchburg, as well as a sober men’s shelter in Leominster and a family refuge in Devens. OFH also runs a rapid relocation program for people who need help transitioning from homelessness to permanent housing.
“We are grateful and honored to be recognized by Hannaford as worthy of their community support,” said OFH Executive Director Judith Nest-Pasierb. “The proceeds of this program will benefit some of the poorest people in our region. “
“We are delighted to have Our Father’s House as the beneficiary organization of the Hannaford Helps Fight Hunger Bag program,” said Chris Gelinas, Hannaford Helps Reusable Bag Program Manager. “Our Father’s House has a great impact on the community, helping those in need, and we look forward to partnering with them during the month of November. “
In November, shoppers can purchase the Fight Hunger bags from the Hannaford store at Twin City Plaza. They can also support OFH programs by choosing Our Father’s House as the recipient of a $ 1 donation when shopping online through the Hannaford-To-Go shopping feature.
All proceeds donated to Maison de notre père will be used to purchase basic necessities for people staying in the individual homeless shelter.
