Why Ganduje, wife was honored, revealed the monarch

Speaking at the ceremony held at his palace on Saturday evening, the traditional ruler said the honor was to reciprocate the respect and love shown to his subjects by the governor.

He explained that a prominent son of Urhobo and former military administrator of Kano State, the late Brig, General Dominic Oneya, told him about the friendly relationship between him and Ganduje, long before he became governor. , and had personally proposed that the Governor of Kano State be honored with an Urhobo chieftaincy title.

Ogbon acknowledged that the governor was a detribalized gentleman who believed in national unity and appreciated him for appointing Chief Anthony Oneya as one of his special advisers.
