FENNVILLE, Mich. – A Michigan A woman whose clothes were found by a river near her abandoned vehicle is still missing after 19 years, officials said.

Michelle Amy Lokker was last seen June 7, 2003 near Fennville, southwest of Grand Rapids and northwest of Kalamazoo.

Lokker’s vehicle was found in the area of ​​121st Avenue and 46th Street in Allegan County, authorities said.

Clothing believed to belong to Lokker was found not far from his vehicle near the Kalamazoo River, police said.

Lokker was 29 when she disappeared. She was 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighed around 115 pounds.

Today, she would be 48 years old.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office at 269-673-0500.

Dame Deborah James has revealed she has designed a range of clothing which will be available to shoppers later this year. The cancer activist, who is at home receiving end-of-life care, took to Instagram to share a piece from the collection on Thursday (May 19).

BBC podcaster Dame Deborah says she has been working on the collection for several months with In The Style. Although the main collection “isn’t quite ready yet”, she says there are already “a whole series of beautiful floral dresses” – including one she wore for her visit from Prince William to return her the Queen’s honor on Saturday (May 14).

The latest piece she posted to her Instagram account – to share with her 780,000 followers – is a t-shirt with “Rebel Hope” printed on it. From now on, the T-shirt is available for purchase, she announced, from this link, 100% of profits going to Cancer Research UK.

In her post, she wrote, “I’m so excited to finally be able to share (at least part of) a project I’ve been working on for several months now. With the @inthestyle I created and designed a collection of beautiful clothes for all of us to look good and feel good!!!

For the past five years, Dame Deborah has been undergoing treatment for stage 4 bowel cancer. She has raised the profile of the disease by working on the You, Me and The Big C podcast for the BBC and writing newspaper articles for The Sun, among others.

But on May 9, she announced that the treatments she was undergoing were no longer effective. Her medical team and her family decided, with her, to move to her parents in Woking, Surrey. She has currently raised over £5million for cancer research in a fundraiser launched when she announced she was receiving end-of-life care.

One of the first challenges many people face first thing in the morning is what to wear to college or work that day.

A former nun who left her car running to donate clothes to a church drop-off site has been hit by a homeless woman who allegedly tried to steal her car.

The disturbing incident took place at Lake Ronkonkoma on Long Island in New York around 6:45 p.m. Saturday.

Lorraine Lombardo, 73, was dropping off a donation in the parking lot of historic St. Mary’s Episcopal Church when police say a woman jumped into her car and attempted to drive away in the 2013 Chevrolet Spark.

Suffolk County police say Lombardo rushed to the car and tried to grab the steering wheel to stop the woman from driving away. The suspect allegedly reversed the car before accelerating and knocked down Lombardo, partially running on his legs. She then rammed the car into a fence and railing.

A witness who lived near the church said the woman argued with Lombardo saying she actually owned the car.

“It’s really sad that you are so desperate to have to take someone else’s car when they are doing a good deed,” mentioned Kathleen White.

Police said the church priest called them to report the incident.

Although the suspect fled the incident, police used a helicopter and dogs to track her down and arrest her. They identified her as Doreen Dunbar, 50.

Lombardo was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, where she underwent surgery for her injuries, which were serious but not life-threatening.

Police said they obtained surveillance video of the incident.

“It’s too bad. I hope she recovers and is okay, and I hope the woman who did this gets the help she needs,” said Kim Gray, one neighbors of Lombardo.

Dunbar will be arraigned for theft and assault, according to to WCBS-TV, which reported that she was under psychiatric observation.

A mum has shared her trick for creating more space on her dryer simply by changing the way she hangs things up – and people hailed her tip as ‘saving’

But thanks to a mom on TikTok, those with young children have had their clothes-drying game revitalized – as she’s found the perfect hack to make sure you can put more of your little one’s clothes on the dryer .

Jaymee-Lea shared the simple trick in a video on her account @jaymeelea96and all you have to do is change the way you place your child’s onesie on the dryer.

Instead of folding it over the rail like you would a t-shirt, you can save a lot of space by using the buttons or snaps at the bottom of the sleepsuit to hang the item from the rail.

Jaymee-Lea from the UK wrote in the video: “Little washing trick! Space saving tip! Look how much less space it takes up on the drying rack!”

And while the mum’s trick might seem super simple, many people in the comments had no idea – and praised her for being a “life saver”.

One person said, “You saved my life.

While another added: ‘Where was it two years ago when my baby was going through 5+ vests a day?’

“Such a great idea,” wrote a third.

There were also people in the comments who said they’ve been using this hack for a while, and one person even said they did the same thing when they managed to get their laundry out outside on the line – because it saved on the pegs.

Be careful of open windows when drying clothes indoors

An alternative to drying outdoors is to dry clothes indoors on drying racks, where the warmer air will definitely do a short job of drying your clothes. But be careful with open windows, as they will still allow pollen to enter and settle on your clothes almost as much as if they were hanging outside.

If you suffer from hay fever, it’s best to make sure these windows are closed if you dry your clothes indoors to minimize the transfer of pollen to clean laundry.

Drying clean clothes outdoors makes symptoms worse

Hanging clothes outside in the summer is the more sustainable choice than using clothes dryers for all our wash loads. But during these months there are a few additional things to think about; one of the most crucial being the time of day.

Pollen is very light and easily picked up by warm air, so it rises early in the morning and falls again at dusk. For this reason, we should avoid having our washing on the line during these times of the day. Try hanging clothes out in the middle of the day if possible and tucking them in at dusk. It’s not only the hottest part of the day when our clothes dry the fastest, but also the time of day when there is less pollen lower to the ground.

Where you hang your clothes to dry can also make a difference. The main contributors to pollen are grass and trees, so hanging the wash away from pollen sources can help lessen the effects, but keep in mind that pollen can still travel on the wind. Once the laundry is in place, give your clothesline a good wipe down before hanging new clothes, as this will remove any particles from your line that could transfer to clean clothes.

Take off your clothes before entering the room

You can also consider undressing before entering the bedroom and washing your hair before bed. This means that any pollen particles that might cling to us are not brought into the bed ready to agitate us later. If possible, also avoid leaving windows open throughout the day, as you could invite annoying pollen particles that will later settle on bedding overnight.

Showering and washing your hair more often than usual

We like to move a lot, especially now that we have a little more freedom to do so. But with this we must be aware that we can collect pollen particles wherever we go on our clothes, but also in our hair and skin.

Therefore, you will need to wash all clothes more often during the summer months when the pollen count is highest, but also shower a bit more often than you normally would. This will not only help you cool down, but also get rid of those annoying pollen particles.

But a new study suggests that flaunting luxury brands at work could be a bad idea.

Researchers at the University of Michigan found that people who display luxury brands and other status signs are more likely to be viewed as uncooperative.

“It is generally assumed that signage status can strategically benefit people who want to appear premium – why else would people pay a premium for products with luxury logos that have no other functional benefit?” said Dr. Shalena Srna, lead author of the study.

“But it can also backfire by making them seem more interested.”

However, in the new study, the team set out to understand whether showing off your wealth also affects people’s perception of your willingness to collaborate.

In the study, the team performed six experiments involving a total of more than 2,800 participants.

In one experiment, 395 participants were asked to rate a range of social media profiles to find people they thought were cooperative, altruistic and generous to join their community.

The profiles either had neutral messages, such as “I saw the cutest puppy today!” #goldenretrievers’, or posts signaling high social status, such as ‘On the way to Madrid! #first class #luxury’.

The results revealed that participants were less likely to recommend a profile to join their community if they had posts signaling high social status.

They also rated these profiles as wealthier, more concerned with status, and less likely to care about others.

In another experiment, 1,345 participants were asked to imagine that they were creating their own social media profile and had to choose what to wear for their profile picture.

Participants were informed that they were selected for an online group. However, only half were told that the group they hoped to join was looking for a cooperative person.

Clothing options included luxury brands such as Prada or Gucci, non-luxury brands such as Sketchers, or unbranded clothing.

The results revealed that participants who tried to come across as a cooperative team player were significantly less likely to choose luxury clothing for their profile picture.

However, participants were also likely to choose to wear a non-luxury brand, whether or not cooperation was promoted.

Light-skinned people wear BLUE clothes

If you’re struggling to decide what to wear, a new study suggests you should take inspiration from your skin tone.

Scottish researchers have found that fair-skinned people are better suited to blue clothes, while people with tanned complexions prefer “warm” shades of orange and red.

Fashion designers tend to advise clothing colors to complement a client’s personal appearance, such as a blue dress for a pale-skinned person.

For example, participants were more likely to choose someone reporting their wealth when looking for a competitive team member.

The results suggest that people can change the way they present themselves based on their social purpose.

“Posting about your luxury purchases and expensive vacations on Instagram or TikTok can help you persuade others, intimidate competitors, and succeed in the dating market — at least for men.

“But it could also signal to potential friends or future employers that you’re unlikely to think about the needs of others,” Dr. Srna said.

“It becomes a tricky balancing act for people who want to impress others while demonstrating that they can be a ‘team player’.

TYLER, Texas (KETK) — Two parents arrested in December for child endangerment in Tyler have been charged.

Katelynn Schengeli, 26, and Corey Evans, 27, were charged on March 3 with four counts of child endangerment.

Deputies from the Smith County Sheriff’s Office discovered four children in a residence at 6100 Rhones Quarter Rd, and they described it as “extremely dirty”. Some of the children were covered in feces and locked in a room with no clothes.

Deputies responded around 10:10 p.m. to help with an EMS call. An 8-year-old child had called because his mother was not answering.

UT Health EMS and its deputies attended the scene and spoke with Schengeli, the mother. She was reactive and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, law enforcement said.

Schengeli told deputies she had consumed alcohol earlier in the day. Emergency medical services told deputies they saw an 11-month-old baby crying in a crib next to the woman’s bed.

The infant was covered in feces that spilled out of his full diaper, according to EMS. They had to change the infant’s diaper and clean up the feces. Officials then heard screaming from another part of the residence. They found 4-year-old twin girls locked in a room with a large safe blocking the door.

The screaming child was asking the deputies for water. The other child was sleeping on the floor with no clothes on, and she was next to a dirty diaper. Officials immediately provided the two girls with clothes and water.

The 11-month-old was also the size of a baby between 3 and 6 months old, law enforcement said. The CPS removed the children from the house.
