Balenciaga collaborates with Lay’s and makes a bag that looks exactly like the bag of chips

Luxury fashion brand, Balenciaga, is making headlines again for a downright bizarre product it recently launched. Balenciaga has launched a bag in collaboration with Lay’s, the American chips brand. As similar as they are to the packet of crisps, the bags debuted at Paris Fashion Week. These bags were launched in three colors: blue, yellow and a mix of red and black. Not only that, but the detailing of the bag also mimics the chip cover design. The only difference is the zip attached to the opening of the bag.

Since its launch, images of these bags have gone viral on social media. Balenciaga creative director Demna Gvasalia posted pictures of the same on his account. In the caption, he wrote, “Balenciaga’s next must-have bag, the Lay’s signature bag.”

Here are some reactions:

Meanwhile, earlier Balenciaga launched a clutch that was inspired by trash bags and looked the same. The trash bag differs from an actual trash can in terms of the material used. Instead of plastic, Balenciaga used soft calfskin. Still, everything almost looks the same. Turns out the brand has some knowledge of its latest product and knows how weird it is. Speaking to Women’s Wear Daily, Demna Gvasalia, Creative Director of Balenciaga, said: “I couldn’t miss an opportunity to create the most expensive trash bag in the world, because who doesn’t love a fashion scandal? ?”

The bag was first unveiled at Demna’s Winter 2022 fashion show, which featured the Spanish fashion house’s new fabrics amidst a blizzard and a white backdrop. Models, wearing the latest designs, are seen carrying the trash bag with them as they walk down the snowy ramp.
