33 first-class bags as American University of Nigeria 266 graduate students – The Whistler Nigeria
The American University of Nigeria (AUN), Yola, on Saturday graduated no less than 266 postgraduate and undergraduate students from the class of 2022, 33 of whom graduated with honors undergraduate degrees.
Speaking at the ceremony in Yola, Dr. Margee Ensign, President/Vice-Chancellor of the University, congratulated the students and wished them success in their future endeavours.
She said the institution has produced excellent future leaders who will have a positive impact in the country and the world.
She said all graduates are exposed to real-world challenges and will apply the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom to create and implement sustainable solutions.
In her remarks, Mary Leonard, US Ambassador to Nigeria, also congratulated the graduating students and urged them to be good ambassadors for the institution.
She said she was happy that many women were among the graduates, adding that Nigeria had great potential.
Mr. Emmanuel Alakunle, who spoke on behalf of the Class of 2022, thanked and appreciated Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President of Nigeria, Founder of AUN, for the wisdom he provided.
According to him, AUN made them proud of who they are today.
He also commended the university staff members for their contributions to their education.
Out of this number, 19 of them were postgraduate students while 247 were undergraduate students.
